Greetings, cultivators! Once Immortal, my whimsical adventure and academy fantasy from the mentor’s PoV, is available today, May 5, 2026! You can find the paperback and ebook on Amazon.

Today is also Teachers’ Day in the US.

This is no coincidence.

From the moment I had the finished manuscript in my hands, I knew there would be no day more fitting to introduce this story to the world. Once Immortal only exists because other people shared their knowledge and wisdom, corrected my mistakes with compassion, and refused to give up on me when I was slow. Someone taught me how to read and write. Someone inspired my love for stories and gave me the confidence to tell my own.

At it’s core, Once Immortal is a tribute to my parents, teachers, and mentors. Many of my favorite scenes, interactions, and conversations in this book were lifted verbatim from my personal experience. In other words, Once Immortal is a true story dressed up as a silly fantasy about dragons.

Nayi’s pessimism toward mortality.

Moon grieving both her past life and the life she never had.

Chayu nagging Kai to go to bed.

When you open Once Immortal, you are reading some of my dearest memories, real conversations I have had, others I wish I had. It is my hope that this book can bring comfort and joy to the children who miss their parents and teachers, the teachers and parents who miss their children, and anyone who needs a Kai or Nayi in their life.

To the teachers of our world: You are the Nayi to someone’s Kai, dearly beloved. May your little shrimps write many fantasy books in your honor.

Happy Teachers’ Day!
